In the last weaving mill in Roubaix, S.A. Craye, a few men, wanting to keep alife the heritage of the textile industry, decided to build a very exciting and exeptional museum. On a surface of 1.400 M², they gaddered 15 looms. The oldest one was build in the 18th century, the most modern one in 1994. During the (always guided) tours, former weavers, dyed by the wool, not only explain the history and the mechanisms of these wonderfull machines, they also put every single one of them to work, and actually weave on every loom. In this way, they not only show the looms, buth they bring back to live the sound of the heartbeat that once filled our streets and cities.
